The coenzyme A (CoA) biosynthesis pathway has attracted attention as a potential target for much-needed novel antimicrobial drugs, including for the treatment of tuberculosis (TB), the lethal disease caused by <i>Mycobacterium tuberculosis</i> (<i>Mtb</i>).
