Global potent greenhouse gas nitrous oxide (N<sub>2</sub>O) emissions from soil are accelerating, with increases in the proportion of reactive nitrogen emitted as N<sub>2</sub>O, i.e., N<sub>2</sub>O emission factor (EF).
