Fusarium head blight (FHB), caused by <i>Fusarium graminearum</i>, is currently the most devastating disease for barley (<i>Hordeum vulgare</i>) in Canada. Associated mycotoxins can compromise grain quality, where deoxynivalenol (DON) is considered particularly damaging due to its frequency of detection.
