Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Mn(NO(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), the Mn(II) atoms are linked by nitrate ligands to form a chain. Each Mn(II) atom is five-coordinated by two N atoms of a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and three O atoms of two nitrates within a trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. In the crystal structure, the chains are linked by hydrogen bonds into a polymeric ribbon structure.
Project description:In the title compound, [Ag(2)(C(6)H(6)NO(3)S)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)](n), the Ag(I) atom is four-coordinated by two N atoms from two symmetry-related 4,4'-bipyridine (bipy) and two O atoms from two independent 4-amino-benzene-sulfonate (ABS) ligands. The two inter-chain Ag(I) atoms are bridged by two independent ABS ligands through weak Ag-O bonds and Ag⋯Ag attractions, forming a ladder-like chain coordination polymer [Ag(2)(ABS)(2)(bipy)(2)](n) parallel to [001], which is further linked to generate a two-dimensional structure via N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.
Project description:In the title compound, {[Mn(NCS)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·2C(4)H(10)O}(n), the Mn(II) ion is coordinated by four N-bonded 4,4'-bipyridine (bipy) ligands and two N-bonded thio-cyanate anions in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The asymmetric unit consists of one Mn(II) ion and two bipy ligands each located on a twofold rotation axis, as well as one thio-cyanate anion and one diethyl ether mol-ecule in general positions. In the crystal structure, the metal centers with terminally bonded thicyanate anions are bridged by the bipy ligands into layers parallel to (001). The diethyl ether solvent mol-ecules occupy the voids of the structure.
Project description:In the title complex, [Ag(2)La(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)(ClO(4))(H(2)O)(5)](n), the La(III) atom, lying on a twofold rotation axis, is eight-coordinated by four O atoms from four nicotinate (nic) ligands and four water mol-ecules in a distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination geometry. The Ag(I) atom is coordinated in an almost linear fashion by two pyridyl N atoms of two nic ligands. The linear coordination is augmented by weak inter-actions with one O atom from a half-occupied ClO(4) (-) anion and a water mol-ecule lying on a twofold axis. Two Ag(nic)(2) units connect two La atoms, forming a cyclic unit. These units are further extended into an infinite zigzag chain. The chains are bridged by the disordered perchlorate ions via weak Ag-O [2.678 (2) Å] inter-actions. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, weak Ag⋯Ag [3.3340 (15) Å] inter-actions and π-π inter-actions between the pyridyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.656 (2) Å] lead to a three-dimensional network.
Project description:In the title crystal structure, [Cd(NCS)(NO(3))(C(11)H(9)N(5))](n), the unique Cd(II) ion is coordinated in a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal environment. The axial thio-cyanate ligands act in a μ(1,3)-bridging mode to connect symmetry-related Cd(II) ions into one-dimensional chains along [010]. In addition, there are inter-molecular C-H⋯O contacts between chains.
Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Ag(2)(NCS)(2)(C(27)H(26)P(2))(2)](n), two centrosymmetrically related Ag(+) cations are linked by two thio-cyanate anions into binuclear eight-membered macrocycles. The Ag⋯Ag separation within the macrocycle is 5.4400 (6) Å. The distorted tetra-hedral coordination about each metal atom is completed by the P atoms of two bridging 1,3-bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)propane ligands, forming polymeric ribbons parallel to the a axis.
Project description:In the title compound, {[Ag(2)Pr(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)(H(2)O)(4)]ClO(4)·H(2)O}(n), the Pr(III) atom, lying on a twofold rotation axis, has a distorted square-anti-prismatic coordination geometry, defined by four O atoms from four nicotinate (nic) ligands and four water mol-ecules. The Ag(I) atom is coordinated in an almost linear fashion by two pyridyl N atoms from two nicotinate ligands. The linear coordination is augmented by weak inter-actions with three O atoms from one perchlorate anion, one uncoordinated water mol-ecule and one carboxyl-ate group. Two Pr atoms link two {Ag(nic)(2)}(+) units into a ring, which is further extended into an infinite zigzag chain by sharing the Pr atoms. These chains are further connected into a three-dimensional network via weak Ag⋯O inter-actions, O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, Ag⋯Ag inter-actions [3.357 (2) Å] and π-π inter-actions between the pyridyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.685 (4) Å].
Project description:A novel metal-organic framework based on 1,3-bis-(imidazol-1-ylmeth-yl)benzene (1,3-bimb), [Cd(NO(3))(2)(C(14)H(14)N(4))(2)](n), has been synthesized hydro-thermally. The structure exhibits a two-dimensional metal-organic (4,4)-net composed of Cd(II) atoms and bimb ligands, and such layers are further joined through inter-layer C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to generate a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.
Project description:The title polymeric compound, [Cd(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(H(2)O)(3)](n) or [Cd(py-2,3-dc)(H(2)O)(3)](n), where py-2,3-dcH(2) is pyridine-2,3-dicarboxylic acid, was obtained by the reaction of cadmium(II) nitrate hexa-hydrate with (pipzH(2))(py-2,3-dc) as a proton-transfer compound in aqueous solution (pipz is piperazine). The mol-ecular structure shows that only the anionic fragment of the starting proton-transfer compound is present in the complex, while the (pipzH(2))(2+) dication has been lost. Each (py-2,3-dc)(2-) ligand bridges two Cd(II) atoms in two different coordination modes, i.e. one end acts as a monodentate and the other end as a bidentate ligand. The three remaining coordination sites on the metal center are occupied by water mol-ecules. The geometric arrangement of the six donor atoms around the Cd(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral. In the crystal structure, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds play an important role in stabilizing the supra-molecular structure.
Project description:In the title complex, {[Zn(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(C(12)H(8)N(2))]·H(2)O}(n), the Zn(II) ion is in a distorted octa-hedral environment, defined by two N atoms from a chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligand and one N atom and three O atoms from two pyridine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate (2,3-pydc) ligands. The bridging 2,3-pydc ligands connect the Zn(II) ions into a chain extending along [010]. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the uncoordinated water mol-ecules and the uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms, as well as π-π inter-actions between the pyridine rings of the phen ligands [centroid-centroid distance = 3.557 (2) Å], are observed.
