Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), characterized by hepatic steatosis, is one of the commonest causes of liver dysfunction. Adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL) is closely related to lipid turnover and hepatic steatosis as the speed-limited triacylglycerol lipase in liver lipolysis.
