Tuberculosis (TB) caused by <i>Mycobacterium tuberculosis</i> (<i>Mtb</i>) infects up to a quarter of the world's population. Although immune responses can control <i>Mtb</i> infection, 5%-10% of infected individuals can progress to active TB disease (progressors).
