<i>Dermoergasilus madagascarensis</i> n. sp. is described from the gills of <i>Paretroplus polyactis</i>, an endemic cichlid fish in Madagascar, using a combined morphological (light microscopy and SEM) and molecular approach (partial 18S rDNA, 28S rDNA, and COI sequences).
