Mutations in ten-eleven translocation (TET) proteins are associated with human neurodevelopmental disorders. We find a function of Tet in regulating <i>Drosophila</i> early brain development. The Tet DNA-binding domain (<i>Tet</i><sup><i>AXXC</i></sup>) is required for axon guidance in the mushroom body (MB).
