<i>Clonostachys</i> (<i>Bionectriaceae</i>, <i>Hypocreales</i>) species are common soil-borne fungi, endophytes, epiphytes, and saprotrophs. Sexual morphs of <i>Clonostachys</i> spp<i>.</i> were placed in the genus <i>Bionectria</i>, which was further segregated into the six subgenera <i>Astromata</i>, <i>Bionectria</i>, <i>Epiphloea</i>, <i>Myronectria</i>, <i>Uniparietina</i>, and <i>Zebrinella</i>.
