Growing antibiotic resistance is rapidly threatening the efficacy of treatments for Gram-negative infections. Bicycle molecules, constrained bicyclic peptides from diverse libraries generated by bacteriophage display that bind with high affinity to a chosen target are a potential new class of antibiotics.
