Poly[[μ₃-2-(benzotriazol-1-yl)acetato-κ³ O:O':N ³]chlorido-(ethanol-κO)cobalt(II)].

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Co(C₈H₆N₃O₂)Cl(C₂H₅OH)] _n , the Co^II atoms adopt octa-hedral trans-CoN₂O₄ and tetra-hedral CoCl₂O₂ coordination geometries (site symmetries and m, respectively). The bridging μ₃-O:O:N 2-(benzotriazol-1-yl)acetato ligands connect the octa-hedral cobalt nodes into (010) sheets and the CoCl₂ fragments link the sheets into a tri-periodic network. The structure displays O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and the ethanol mol-ecule is disordered over two orientations.

Project description:In the title compound, [K(2)(C(8)H(6)N(3)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n), each K(+) ion is seven-coordinated by one O atom from a bridging water mol-ecule, five carboxyl-ate O atoms and one N atom from a benzotriazole group, forming a distorted mono-capped octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, the carboxyl-ate groups act as bridging ligands, forming a two-dimensional polymer parallel to (001). The aqua ligand, which lies on a twofold rotation axis, forms inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds within these layers.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title polymer, [Co2(C3H3O4)2Cl2(H2O)2] n , comprises one Co(II) atom, one water mol-ecule, one singly deprotonated malonic acid mol-ecule (HMal(-); systematic name 2-carb-oxy-acetate) and one Cl(-) anion. The Co(II) atom is octa-hedrally coordinated by the O atom of a water mol-ecule, by one terminally bound carboxyl-ate O atom of an HMal(-) anion and by two O atoms of a chelating HMal(-) anion, as well as by two Cl(-) anions. The Cl(-) anions bridge two Co(II) atoms, forming a centrosymmetric Co2Cl2 core. Each malonate ligand is involved in the formation of six-membered chelate rings involving one Co(II) atom of the dinuclear unit and at the same time is coordinating to another Co(II) atom of a neighbouring dinuclear unit in a bridging mode. The combination of chelating and bridging coordination modes leads to the formation of a two-dimensional coordination polymer extending parallel to (001). Within a layer, O-Hwater⋯Cl and O-Hwater⋯O hydrogen bonds are present. Adjacent layers are linked through O-H⋯O=C hydrogen bonds involving the carb-oxy-lic acid OH and carbonyl groups.

Synthesis and crystal structure of catena-poly[cobalt(II)-di-μ-chlorido-μ-pyridazine-κ2N1:N2].

Project description:The reaction of cobalt dichloride hexa-hydrate with pyridazine leads to the formation of crystals of the title compound, [CoCl2(C4H4N2)]n. This compound is isotypic to a number of compounds with other divalent metal ions. Its asymmetric unit consists of a Co2+ atom (site symmetry 2/m), a chloride ion (site symmetry m) and a pyridazine mol-ecule (all atoms with site symmetry m). The Co2+ cations are coordinated by four chloride anions and two pyridazine ligands, generating trans-CoN4Cl2 octa-hedra, and are linked into [010] chains by pairs of μ-1,1-bridging chloride anions and bridging pyridazine ligands. In the crystal structure, the pyridazine ligands of neighboring chains are stacked onto each other, indicating π-π inter-actions. Powder X-ray diffraction proves that a pure crystalline phase was obtained. Differential thermonalysis coupled to thermogravimetry (DTA-TG) reveal that decomposition is observed at about 710 K. Magnetic measurements indicate low-temperature metamagnetic behavior as already observed in a related compound.

The crystal structure is consolidated by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The measured crystal was a non-merohedral twin with four components.

Project description:In the title compound, {[(C(2)H(5))(3)NH][Cu(2)(CH(3)COO)(5)]·C(4)H(8)O}(n), the two different Cu(II) atoms are coordinated in a pseudo-square-pyramidal environment by five O atoms from the acetate ligands. Neighbouring pairs of Cu(II) atoms are linked by four basally coordinating bridging acetate ligands as in the crystal structure of copper acetate monohydrate. The fifth, apically coordinating ligand links two of the dicopper tetra-acetate paddlewheel-units together, thus building a linear coordination polymer which extends along [10-1]. Each apical acetate ligand is linked by an N-H⋯O hydrogen bond to a triethyl-ammonium cation. Weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding interactions also occur.

Project description:The title Cu2+-chloride coordination polymer with the 4,4'-bi-1,2,4-triazole ligand (btr), [Cu4Cl8(C4H6N6)3] n , crystallizes in the non-centrosymmetric ortho-rhom-bic space group Fdd2. The two independent Cu2+ cations adopt distorted square-pyramidal geometries with {Cl2N2+Cl} coordination polyhedra. The metal atoms are bridged by μ-Cl anions forming left- and right-handed helical chains of sequence [-(μ-Cl)CuCl-] n along the c-axis direction. In the perpendicular directions, the btr ligands act in μ- and μ 3- coordination modes in a 2:3 ratio. The μ-btr bridges connect neighboring helices of the same handedness, whereas the μ 3-btr ligands link the helices of opposite handedness, leading to a racemic three-dimensional framework. The structure is consolidated by weak C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯N inter-actions.

Project description:The title trinuclear compound, [Cu3(C5H8NS2)Cl2(C6H15P)3], has the di-thio-carbamate ligand symmetrically chelating one CuI atom and each of the S atoms bridging to another CuI atom. Both chloride ligands are bridging, one being μ3- and the other μ2-bridging. Each Et3P ligand occupies a terminal position. Two of the CuI atoms exist within Cl2PS donor sets and the third is based on a ClPS2 donor set, with each coordination geometry based on a distorted tetra-hedron. The constituents defining the core of the mol-ecule, i.e. Cu3Cl2S2, occupy seven corners of a distorted cube. In the crystal, linear supra-molecular chains along the c axis are formed via phosphane-methyl-ene-C-H⋯Cl and pyrrolidine-methyl-ene-C-H⋯π(chelate) inter-actions, and these chains pack without directional inter-actions between them. An analysis of the Hirshfeld surface points to the predominance of H atoms at the surface, i.e. contributing 86.6% to the surface, and also highlights the presence of C-H⋯π(chelate) inter-actions.

Project description:The title coordination polymer, {[Cu3(C4H4N3O9)3(SeO4)(OH)]·2H2O} n or ([Cu3(μ3-OH)(trgly)3(SeO4)]·2H2O), crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c. The three independent Cu2+ cations adopt distorted square-pyramidal geometries with {O2N2+O} polyhedra. The three copper centres are bridged by a μ3-OH anion, leading to a triangular [Cu3(μ3-OH)] core. 2-(1,2,4-Triazol-4-yl)acetic acid (trgly-H) acts in a deprotonated form as a μ3-κ3 N 1:N 2:O ligand. The three triazolyl groups bridge three copper centres of the hydroxo-cluster in an N 1:N 2 mode, thus supporting the triangular geometry. The [Cu3(μ3-OH)(tr)3] clusters serve as secondary building units (SBUs). Each SBU can be regarded as a six-connected node, which is linked to six neighbouring triangles through carboxyl-ate groups, generating a two-dimensional uninodal (3,6) coordination network. The selenate anion is bound in a μ3-κ3 O 1:O 2:O 3 fashion to the trinuclear copper platform. The [Cu3(OH)(trgly)3(SeO4)] coordination layers and guest water mol-ecules are linked together by numerous O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, leading to a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Co(C10H8O6)(C16H20N4)(H2O)2]·5H2O} n , octa-hedrally coordinated Co(II) ions on crystallographic inversion centres are bound by trans O atoms belonging to two hydro-quinone-O,O'-di-acetate (hqda) anions {systematic name: 2,2'-[(1,4-phenyl-ene)bis-(-oxy)]di-acetate}, two trans-pyridine N-donor atoms from two bis-(pyridin-4-ylmeth-yl)piperazine (4-bpmp) ligands, and two trans aqua ligands. The exobidentate hqda and 4-bpmp ligands form [Co(hqda)(4-bpmp)(H2O)2] n coordination polymer layers parallel to (110) that are anchored into the full crystal structure by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between aqua ligands and ligated hqda O atoms. Disordered water mol-ecules of crystallization occupy incipient channels along [100]. However, these could not modeled reliably and so they were treated with SQUEEZE in PLATON [Spek (2009 ▶). Acta Cryst. D65, 148-155]; the crystal data take the presence of these mol-ecules into account. The crystal under investigation was twinned by non-merohedry, the twin fraction of the components being 53.3% and 46.7%. Only data from the major twin component were used in the refinement.
