Mitral Valve Edge-to-Edge Repair Through an Atrial Septal Shunt Device.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Atrial shunt devices are being implanted with increasing frequency, and there are potential concerns for subsequent procedures using transseptal access. A 79-year-old woman presented with progressive dyspnea of multifactorial etiology with already implanted atrial shunt device. Due to comorbidities, successful mitral-valve edge-to-edge repair was performed transseptally through the shunt device.
