Tetanus neurotoxin (TeNT) causes spastic paralysis by inhibiting neurotransmission in spinal inhibitory interneurons. TeNT binds to the neuromuscular junction, leading to its internalisation into motor neurons and subsequent transcytosis into interneurons.
