ABSTRACT: This study investigated the risk profile and the impact of dietary intervention in calcium oxalate stone formers with enteric hyperoxaluria under controlled, standardized conditions. Thirty-seven patients were included in the study. Dietary and 24-h urinary parameters were obtained on the self-selected diet and a balanced, standardized diet. Tests for [13C2]oxalate absorption, calcium- and ammonium chloride-loading were performed. Mean [13C2]oxalate absorption was 18.8%. A significant positive association was observed between urinary oxalate excretion and intestinal oxalate absorption. In addition, urinary oxalate excretion was significantly correlated with dietary oxalate intake. Mean urinary oxalate excretion decreased from 0.841 mmol/24 h on t
