Impact of soil fissure status on microbial community in mining-disturbed area, the northern Shaanxi province.

ABSTRACT: Mining disturbance has great impacts on soil physicochemical factors, causing notable differences between pre-mining and after-mining conditions, and between coal mining areas and non-mined areas. However, little is known about whether the fissure statuses induced by mining activities affect the edaphic factors and how soil microbial communities respond to these fissure development states. In this study, we systematically investigated the edaphic factors and microbial communities in a mining disturbance area exhibiting the full development status of soil fissures, where the sampling sites were divided into soil fissure development and closure zones.
