ABSTRACT: Malignant tumors of the lung are the leading cancers worldwide. Prognostic biomarkers continue to be investigated for the detection and stratification of lung cancer for clinical use. In breast cancer cells and in lymphomas, the overexpression of galectin-7 led to increased metastasis. In lung cancer, squamous cell carcinoma, galectin-7 was also identified as a factor promoting metastasis. In this study, we investigated the expression of galectin-7 in relation to clinicopathological features and overall survival in patients with different types of lung cancer. By immunohistochemistry, expression of galectin-7 was analyzed in 308 cases of lung cancer; 108 cases of adenocarcinoma, 193 cases of squamous cell lung carcinoma and 7 cases of small cell lung cancer (SCLC) and correlated with clini
