Bisphenol AF Induces Alterations in the Plasma Lipidome of Rats: An Untargeted Lipidomics Approach.

ABSTRACT: Bisphenol AF has gained popularity as a substitute for bisphenol A in industrial applications, leading to its detection in various biological fluids and raising concerns for public health. While the effects of bisphenol A on lipid metabolism are known, the impact of bisphenol AF on different lipid classes remains understudied. This study aimed to address this gap by conducting an untargeted lipidomics analysis in rats to assess the influence of bisphenol AF on lipid homeostasis. The results of the study revealed significant alterations in lipid profiles in plasma with various lipid classes being affected by bisphenol AF exposure. High-dose exposure to bisphenol AF resulted in specific changes within lipid clusters, including a decrease in the fatty acyl lipid cluster, except for 3,6,9,12,1
