Psychological experience of patients with postpartum depression: A qualitative meta-synthesis.

ABSTRACT:

Purpose

To determine the psychological experiences of patients with postpartum depression by systematically reviewing, retrieving, and synthesizing data from qualitative studies.

Methods

Nine databases were systematically searched for relevant publications, from database establishment to September 20, 2024. All qualitative studies in English and Chinese that explored the real-life experiences, feelings, etc., of individuals affected by postpartum depression after childbirth were included. The qualitative meta-synthesis was performed following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) recommendations.
