Dataset Information

A study of the correlation between meteorological factors and hospitalization for acute lower respiratory infections in children.

ABSTRACT:

Background

The study focuses on the effect of temperature and relative humidity on hospitalization for acute lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI) in children, respectively.

Methods

In this study, the Distributed Lag Nonlinear Model (DLNM) based on quasi-Poisson distribution was used to investigate the effect of temperature and relative humidity on LRTI hospitalization in children, and subgroup analyses were conducted to identify sensitive populations by gender and age.

Results

A total of 43,951 children were hospitalized for LRTI from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2019 in Lanzhou. The mean temperature during the study period was 11.34 °C and the mean relative humidity was 51.03%. With reference to the median temperature of 12.7 °C during the study period, both lo
