ABSTRACT:

Purpose

To compare the clinical outcomes between opening wedge high tibial osteotomy (OWHTO) and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) in patients with Ahlbäck Grade 3 medial compartmental knee osteoarthritis (OA) using a propensity score matching (PSM) analysis.

Methods

This retrospective study included all OWHTO and UKA procedures performed between 2016 and 2021 at a single institution. Inclusion criteria were patients diagnosed with medial knee OA, specifically Ahlbäck Grade 3 arthritis. Clinical outcomes were assessed using the Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS).
