Analysis of power system transient stability with PSO-optimized distributed generation and HVDC transmission systems.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: The integration of distributed generation (DG) and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) facilities into a power system results in altered transient responses compared to traditional AC-based power systems. This study investigates the transient stability of AC-DC hybrid power systems incorporating DG and HVDC facilities. The objective of this study is to identify the factors that influence the frequency stability of the power system. By evaluating the impact of DG and HVDC installations in the specific test environment of this study, it was found that with respect to frequency fluctuations, the DG-only installation reduced the fluctuations by about 10%, while the HVDC installation increased the fluctuations by about 90%. Furthermore, for the maximum fault clearance delay, the DG-only system c
