Surveillance of psychogenic adverse events following immunization in Zhejiang, China, 2020-2023.

ABSTRACT:

Background

Adverse events following immunization (AEFIs) refer to any untoward medical occurrence that follows immunization. Despite the large number of studies reporting various types of AEFIs worldwide, information on the psychogenic AEFIs remains scarce.

Objective

To describe the frequency and characteristics of psychogenic AEFIs among vaccine recipients in Zhejiang Province, China, from 2020 to 2023.

Methods

Psychogenic AEFIs in Zhejiang Province from January 1, 2020, to December 31, 2023, were collected through the Chinese National AEFI Information System (CNAEFIS) for a descriptive epidemiological analysis.
