Association between Non high density lipoprotein to high density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio and bone mineral density.

ABSTRACT: NHHR is the new composite lipid index. There are few studies on the relationship between NHHR and bone mineral density (BMD). This study aimed to investigate the correlation between the NHHR and BMD. Weighted multiple linear regression, threshold effects, and fitted smoothed-curve modeling were employed in this cross-sectional analysis, which comprised 3,138 participants in the 2011-2018 NHANES, to examine the relationship between NHHR and BMD. A total of 3,138 participants were analyzed and grouped by NHHR quartiles. Higher NHHR was associated with male gender, younger age, and increased cardiometabolic risk factors. NHHR was negatively correlated with BMD, and a significant non-linear relationship was observed, with an inflection point at 1.301. Below this threshold, NHHR was significant
