ABSTRACT: The rs1842681 polymorphism of the LOC105372028 gene was found to correlate with a 3-month functional stroke outcome in a genome-wide association study meta-analysis performed by the GISCOME study. Although the STRONG study confirmed these results, a study in a Chinese population reported no such correlation. We prospectively examined the correlation between the rs1842681 polymorphism of the LOC105372028 gene and the 3-month ischemic stroke functional outcome in a Polish population. In 1037 IBioStroke participants, we examined two multivariate logistic regression models, predicting excellent (mRS: 0-1 vs. 2-6) and good (mRS: 0-2 vs. 3-6) outcomes. In an univariate analysis the rs1842681 polymorphism, among several other parameters available in acute stroke, was associated with an excellent
