ABSTRACT: Case summary
A 20-year-old woman presented with acute coronary syndrome. Invasive coronary angiography revealed complete occlusion of the left main coronary artery. Subsequent computed tomography angiography demonstrated occlusion of the left subclavian, left vertebral, and superior mesenteric arteries, along with circumferential thickening of the abdominal aorta, consistent with Takayasu arteritis.Take-home messages
Takayasu arteritis is a rare large-vessel vasculitis that predominantly affects young women. In young patients presenting with acute coronary syndromes, early vascular imaging is essential for prompt diagnosis and appropriate management.
