ABSTRACT: The title compound, C₁₈H₁₄N₄O₆, was prepared in a larger project on condensed heterocycles with a focus on the Cadogan reaction. Extension of this method to multiple Cadogan reactions was explored as a way to larger conjugated systems. A twofold Suzuki reaction on a central diboronic acid and chloro-nitro-pyridine gave the bis-(3-nitro-pyridin-2-yl)benzene.
