Intracranial vessel wall MRI in ischemic stroke in systemic lupus erythematosus: radiological characteristics and clinical associations.

ABSTRACT:

Background

The morphology of intracranial vessel wall lesions (VWLs) in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has not yet been fully elucidated. This study aimed to explore the radiological characteristics of intracranial VWLs in SLE ischemic stroke patients and the relationship between these characteristics and clinical features using high-resolution vessel wall imaging (HRVWI).

Methods

This cross-sectional study evaluated the distribution and patterns of intracranial VWLs in SLE ischemic stroke patients, and individually age- and sex-matched control ischemic stroke patients without autoimmune diseases. A univariate analysis was performed to compare the clinical and radiological characteristics between the different patients and the VWL patterns. A follow-up study of HRVWI was
