ABSTRACT: Background
Based on data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) 2021, this study analyzes the global disease burden of lip and oral cavity cancer attributable to high alcohol consumption (LOC-HAC).Methods
Disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) were used to assess health loss. The Das Gupta decomposition method was employed to analyze the effects of population growth, aging, and epidemiological changes on DALYs. The Nordpred model was applied to project the disease burden trends from 2022 to 2045.Results
In 2021, the global number of DALY cases for LOC-HAC was 1,191,084 (95% UI: 906,229.2-1,474,007), representing a 90% increase from 628,484.1 (95% UI: 493,522.1-754,895.3) in 1990. The fastest growth occurred in low-middle SDI regions, reaching 279%. A similar increa
