Background

The growing burden of chronic disease multimorbidity in an aging population highlights the need to promote physical activity as a key strategy for disease management. This study aimed to explore the patterns of chronic comorbidities and their association with physical activity in Chinese middle-aged and older adults.

Methods

A cross-sectional study was conducted using data from the 2020 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study. Latent class analysis was applied to identify distinct multimorbidity patterns among middle-aged and older adults, whereas multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors.
