Systemic inflammation response index (SIRI) predicts mortality and cardiovascular events in maintenance hemodialysis patients: A correlational study.

ABSTRACT: Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients generally experience a state of micro-inflammation, which increases the risk of all-cause mortality and cardiovascular events (CVEs). The systemic inflammatory response index (SIRI) is a novel inflammatory marker that reflects the body's inflammatory state. Research has shown that SIRI not only serves as a prognostic indicator for many cancer-related diseases but also as a predictor for the occurrence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. Currently, there is a paucity of research investigating the correlation between SIRI and all-cause mortality or the incidence of CVEs in patients undergoing MHD. This study is a retrospective cohort study, which collected 275 newly admitted MHD patients. The study population was divided into 2 groups based
