Prognostic value of lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio in patients with small cell lung cancer: a meta-analysis.

ABSTRACT:

Background

The lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR) has been previously analyzed for its value in forecasting prognostic outcomes in patients with small cell lung cancer (SCLC); however, the findings remain conflicting. Therefore, we performed this meta-analysis to identify LMR's precise role of the LMR in predicting the prognosis of SCLC.

Methods

We searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library until April 10, 2025, and evaluated function of LMR in forecasting SCLC prognosis by determining aggregated hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).

Results

Nine articles involving 1701 cases included in the present study. As revealed by our pooled data, decreased LMR showed close relation to poor overall survival (OS) (HR = 1.49, 95% CI = 1.16
