Six-Strand Hamstring Autograft Technique for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Arthroscopic reconstruction is the standard approach for the anterior cruciate ligament. In studies, anterior cruciate ligament graft rupture occurs more frequently in hamstring autografts than in patellar tendon autografts. Small-diameter hamstring autografts measuring 7 mm or less have been associated with an increased risk of failure or rerupture. In this Technical Note, we aimed to increase the graft thickness and durability by preparing 6 strands of hamstring graft. Thus, we think that graft rupture will occur less frequently.
