Reconstruction of Acromioclavicular and Coracoclavicular Joints Augmented With Semitendinosus Autograft and Tensionable Cerclage System and K-Wire Supplementation.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Acromioclavicular (AC) joint separations are commonly seen in athletic settings, as well as road traffic injuries. A wide range of surgical interventions are proposed for the treatment of high-grade AC separations, from hook plates, wires, screws, Endobuttons, dog-buttons, to anatomical and nonanatomical reconstruction using autografts, biological augments, and cerclage systems. However, reconstruction of merely the coracoclavicular ligaments caused recurrent deformity, citing the need to address the AC ligaments concurrently, without compromising on the mobility of the AC joint. This Technical Note and the accompanying video describe AC joint reconstruction and augmentation of the coracoclavicular ligaments along with anatomical reduction, repair, and additional stabilization using a comb
