ABSTRACT: The title compound, (C18H22FN3O4)2[Cu3Cl9(H2O)2]Cl, has been synthesized in the presence of levofloxacin, which acts as an organic component in the formation of the cationic species The asymmetric unit comprises one levofloxacin dication, one half of a trinuclear [Cu3Cl9(H2O)2]3- anion and one half of an outer-sphere chloride anion. The central CuII atom, an apically coordinated chlorido ligand and the free chloride anion all reside on crystallographic twofold rotation axes, resulting in a unique symmetry-imposed configuration. Each CuII atom exhibits a five-coordinated distorted square-pyramidal coordination environ
