Dataset Information

The evaluation of declarative and objective knowledge of first aid for dental traumatic injuries among medical students: development and validation of a competency assessment tool.

ABSTRACT:

Background

Dental injuries are among the most prevalent types of injuries in the oral cavity, particularly in children and adolescents. The effectiveness of treatment largely hinges on the provision of appropriate first aid, often administered prior to consulting a dentist. Consequently, understanding the correct procedures in such scenarios should be an essential component of medical students' education.

Objective

This study aimed to evaluate the level of knowledge that medical students possess concerning first aid for dental injuries, analyze the correlation between self-assessment and actual knowledge, and develop an original tool for the objective assessment of theoretical knowledge in addressing post-traumatic dental injuries-the Traumatic Dental Injuries-Knowledge Inde
