Incidence And Determinants Of Postoperative Sore Throat At Mogadishu Somali-Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan Training And Research Hospital.

ABSTRACT:

Background

Postoperative sore throat (POST) is a common sequela of endotracheal intubation that often contributes to patient dissatisfaction and delayed recovery. The risk profile for POST is complex and is modified by context-specific variables, including clinical practices and patient demographics. A significant knowledge gap exists, as there is a notable absence of epidemiological data regarding the incidence and predictors of POST in Somalia, limiting the ability to implement evidence-informed preventive strategies in this setting.

Aim

To determine the incidence and identify the associated risk factors of POST among adult patients who underwent general anesthesia with endotracheal intubation at a tertiary care hospital in Mogadishu, Somalia.
