Strategic competencies for telemedicine physicians: insights from a qualitative study on doctor-to-doctor healthcare delivery in India.

ABSTRACT:

Background

An important element in providing high-quality healthcare to the poor is the technology used in telemedicine, which enables patients everywhere to access healthcare. This case study at a telemedicine center of a private tertiary care hospital (PTCH-TC) in India uses a qualitative approach, guided by telemedicine principles, and aims to explore the essential competencies for telemedicine physicians to effectively deliver specialized healthcare services, to support healthcare providers in enhancing the quality of care offered to society.
