ABSTRACT: Background
Ayurveda texts has mentioned a disorder known as Prameha, which parallels type 2 diabetes mellitus. Globally, prevalence of diabetes within the adult demography is projected to surge to 12.2% (783.2 million adults) by 2045. Additionally, managing it with current conventional drugs has been associated with side effects. This situation demands the urgent need of a therapeutic agent that can optimize diabetes management with minimal or no side effects. This case report presents a patient with type 2 diabetes mellitus, who was treated using a novel Ayurvedic formulation, which is a combination of Shilajatu (Asphaltum punjabinum) and decoction of Daruharidra (Berberis aristate DC.), along with dietary and lifestyle modifications.Case presentation
