A social ecological model mapping of factors shaping health personnel's attitudes toward organ donation: a scoping review.

ABSTRACT:

Background

Although organ donation is a life-saving procedure, it faces significant challenges owing to the shortage of available organs. Health personnel play a vital role in promoting organ donation. However, their attitudes toward organ donation vary greatly. Understanding the factors that influence these attitudes is essential for developing effective strategies to enhance organ donation.

Methods

In accordance with the Arksey and O'Malley framework, a comprehensive scoping review was conducted across multiple databases, including PubMed, MEDLINE, Web of Science, Embase, CINAHL, the Cochrane Library, PsycINFO, CNKI, VIP and Wanfang. A systematic search was conducted from 1 January 2015 to 6 July 2025.
