ABSTRACT: Background
Woven-like coronary arteries may result from congenital anomalies, spontaneous coronary artery dissection, or thrombus recanalization. Intravascular imaging is essential for accurate diagnosis.Case summary
A 45-year-old woman underwent coronary angiography, which revealed a woven-like structure in the right coronary artery. A hybrid intravascular ultrasound-optical coherence tomography (IVUS-OCT) imaging system confirmed thrombus recanalization of the right coronary artery. The patient was successfully treated with stent implantation.Discussion
Multiple channels with intact 3-layered vessel walls are features of congenital woven arteries. Acquired forms, caused by thrombus organization or dissection, exhibit a "lotus root" or "honeycomb" pattern. Thus, id
