HIV, Viral Hepatitis, and Schistosomiasis Association with Liver Cancer: A Systematic Review.

ABSTRACT: Liver cancer is a notable global health concern, with several infections contributing to its etiology. This systematic review investigates the roles of HIV, viral hepatitis, and schistosomiasis in the development of liver cancer, particularly hepatocellular carcinoma. This systematic review was registered under PROSPERO with the reference: CRD42024566941. A comprehensive literature search was conducted using various databases (PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science) to identify studies examining the association between HIV, viral hepatitis, and schistosomiasis with hepatocellular carcinoma.
