ABSTRACT: Background
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide, with higher death rates in Asia than in Europe and North America. Programmed cell death protein-(ligand) 1 [PD-(L)1] inhibitors are effective in NSCLC treatment, but their comparative effectiveness in Asian vs. non-Asian populations is unclear. The aim of this systematic literature review (SLR) and meta-analysis was to assess the efficacy of PD-(L)1 inhibitor monotherapy or combination therapy (with platinum-based chemotherapy or cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) inhibitors as first-line (1L), second-line (2L), and later (2L+) treatment for locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC in Asian vs. non-Asian patients. Methods
