Patient-Specific 3-Dimensional Surgical Guide for Anteriorizing Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy to Treat Patellofemoral Osteoarthritis.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: There is an emerging role of using patient-specific instruments in orthopaedic surgery, such as high tibial osteotomy, to improve surgical precision and reduce operative times. However, there is a paucity of evidence in the use of patient-specific instruments in anteriorizing tibial tubercle osteotomy (aTTO) to treat patellofemoral osteoarthritis. The purpose of this article is to describe the technique of using a patient-specific 3-dimensional printed surgical guide to perform an aTTO. The guide was designed in 3 dimensions preoperatively using patient imaging to facilitate patient-specific, accurate bone cuts and effective surgical execution for the aTTO.
