The gastric microbiome is increasingly recognized in gastric carcinogenesis, extending beyond Helicobacter pylori to oral-associated bacteria. Tissue biopsy is the current standard but is limited in spatial coverage. This pilot study evaluated an endoscopic swab-based approach as an alternative.
