ABSTRACT:

Background

National guidelines recommend long-term surveillance after endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair (EVAR) to monitor for device failure; however, investigations have demonstrated that EVAR surveillance can vary greatly. Recently, the BMC2 (Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Cardiovascular Consortium) implemented a statewide surveillance program, linked with financial reimbursement, designed to improve EVAR postoperative surveillance. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of this statewide program on EVAR surveillance and long-term mortality.
