ABSTRACT: Background
Deep vein catheterization is common in patients with advanced cancer, but safety and cost comparisons between catheter types are limited.Purpose
To evaluate the safety and economic impact of a modified medium-length catheter versus a standard peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line in patients with advanced cancer.Methods
A prospective cohort study was conducted involving 160 patients with advanced cancer receiving palliative care between January 2022 and April 2024.
