ABSTRACT: Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is a prevalent and underdiagnosed atherosclerotic condition affecting more than 10 million adults in the United States. PAD is a marker of systemic vascular disease and a strong predictor of myocardial infarction, stroke, and mortality.
