Integrin-linked kinase (ILK), a mediator of beta integrin signals, has emerged as a therapeutic target in malignant tumors. Because malignant transformation is accompanied by dedifferentiation, ILK expression was evaluated in diverse normal and tumor tissue samples with regard to tissue differentiation.
