Asymmetric oxidation of o-alkylphenols with chiral 2-(o-iodoxyphenyl)-oxazolines.


ABSTRACT: A new class of chiral iodine(V) derivatives has been prepared. These compounds have been found to transform ortho-alkylphenols into ortho-quinol Diels-Alder dimers with significant levels of asymmetric induction.
