The mononuclear mol-ecule lies on a twofold axis that passes through the pyridine N atoms. The toluene solvent mol-ecule is equally disordered about a twofold axis.

Project description:The Cd(II) atom in the title compound, [Cd(C(12)H(27)O(3)SSi)(2)(C(4)H(6)N(2)O)], is penta-coordinated by two O and two S atoms from the O,S-chelating silanethiol-ate residue and one N from the 4-hydroxy-methyl-imidazole ligand and shows a strongly distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The title complex is isostructural with its zinc analog. The hydroxy group of the ligand is involved in intra-molecular O-H⋯S hydrogen bonding and also acts as an acceptor in the formation of an inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond, which links mol-ecules of the complex into zigzag chains parallel to the b axis. One of the tert-butyl groups is disordered over two orientations with occupancies of 0.557 (12):0.443 (12).

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(2)(C(12)H(27)O(3)SSi)(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(CH(4)O)], is a binuclear complex with the two Zn(II) atoms linked via a bridging 4,4'-bipyridyl ligand. One of the Zn(II) atoms is penta-coordinated by two O,S-chelating tri-tert-butoxy-silanethiol-ate units and one N atom of a 4,4'-bipyridine ligand, and the other Zn(II) atom is tetra-hedrally coordinated by two tri-tert-butoxy-silanethiol-ate anions acting as monodentate S ligands, the methanol O atom and the other N atom of the 4,4'-bipyridine ligand. This non-symmetrical coordination induces twisting and bending in the 4,4'-bipyridine ligand and introduces chirality into the system. The crystal studied exhibits inversion twinning. One tert-butyl group is disordered approximately equally over two positions.

Investigation of Bis(Perfluoro-tert-Butoxy) Halogenates(I/III).

Project description:A systematic study of halogenate(I/III) anions with polyatomic ligands is presented. The bis(perfluoro-tert-butoxy) halogenates(I) [X(OC4 F9 )2 ]- , X=Cl, Br, I, of chlorine, bromine, and iodine are prepared as their tetraethylammonium salts and characterized with IR, Raman, and NMR spectroscopic methods, as well as single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Spectroscopical data are supported by quantum-chemical calculations. Additionally, the bonding situation of the species in question are analyzed and discussed. Furthermore, the oxidation to the corresponding halogenate(III) derivatives was studied. For [Br(OC4 F9 )2 ]- , oxidation with elemental fluorine gave [BrF2 (OC4 F9 )2 ]- . Iodide was directly oxidized by ClOC4 F9 to the IIII species [I(OC4 F9 )4 ]- , which is a surprisingly inert anion that might be used as a weakly coordinating anion (WCA) in the future. For [Cl(OC4 F9 )2 ]- , the decomposition products of the synthetic approaches towards a chlorine(III) system were analyzed.

Project description:The title compound, [Pd(SC6H4F-p)Cl(PPh3)2]·0.5CH3OH, features a Pd(II) complex with two tri-phenyl-phosphane (PPh3) ligands arranged in a trans conformation, with one chloride and one 4-fluoro-benzene-thiol-ate ligand completing the coordination sphere, giving rise to a slightly distorted square-planar geometry of the Pd(II) ion. The methanol solvent mol-ecule is disordered about an inversion centre with an occupancy of 0.25 for each molecule. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the complex mol-ecules generate chain frameworks parallel to [010].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(21)H(36)N(2)O(7), consists of two independent half-mol-ecules, the other halves being generated by twofold rotational axes. The two independent half-mol-ecules are related by a pseudo-inversion center. In one, the pyrrolidine ring adopts a twist conformation whereas in the other it is in an envelope conformation. The crystal packing is stabilized by C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, C(27)H(25)NP(2), the diphenyl-phosphino groups are staggered relative to the PNP backbone. The dihedral angles between the phenyl rings bonded to each P atom are 51.74 (5) and 68.23 (4)°. The coordination around the N atom deviates from trigonal-pyrimidal geometry towards an almost planar arrangement between the N atom and the adjacent P and C atoms; the distance between the N atom and the plane formed by the adjacent C/P/P atoms is 0.098 (2) Å.
